Famous Cars From The Movies

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010

We rarely notice the cars that appear in our favorite movies, but the fact is that they play large role in setting the overall tone. Aston Martin’s ooze class and wealth while “bad boys” can often be seen driving around in American muscle cars. Here is a list of the most famous and memorable cars to ever hit the big screen.

Aston Martin DB5 “GoldFinger”- Aston Martin is well known for its elegant, good looking and powerful cars. The gorgeous DB5 has made an impressive appearance in both “Goldfinger” and “Thunderball” movies from the James Bond franchise. The actual DB5 model that was driven by Sean Connery in the movie was recently purchased at a British auction at the price $4.6 million dollars. The engine is 4.0 Liters and is able to reach top speeds of up to 145 mph.

Ford Coupe-”American Graffiti”- The 1932 Deuce coupe is memorable for its final drag race scene in the cult classic movie “American Graffiti”. This bright yellow ride comes with a V8 3.6 Ltr engine and puts out 60 hp. Deuce’s role emphasizes the significance of the Ford brand in popular American culture.

Bumblebee-”Transformers “- In the movie “Transformers” Bumblebee has the ability to transform into a robot, an “Autobot”. She is also gorgeous, sporting a sunny yellow color with black stripes to resemble a real bee! Unfortunately Bumblebee was involved in a recent car accident which was not part of the script. She was hit on the side by a police SUV in Washington DC. If you want to have your own Bumblebee now you can, thanks to Chevrolet’s Transformers Special Edition package for the Camaro. This will get you Autobot insignia fender bags and wheel caps and more Autobot insignias in the interior in addition to the classic Bumblebee yellow and black exterior.

Ford Edge-”Quantum Of Solace” – I watched this movie in theaters and could hear the audience gasp in shock as Mr Bond emerged from a Ford Edge, of all cars. This wasn’t just any Ford Edge, but an environmentally friendly Ford Edge powered by a hydrogen fuel cell.

Delorean DMC 12-”Back To The Future”- This vehicle achieves the impossible and breaks the laws of quantum physics. In the movie the DMC is able to travel back in time when hitting exact speeds of 88 mph. In our book, that makes the Delorean one of the coolest cars ever.

Mustang GT-”Bullitt”-The iconic Mustang GT can be seen in an intense scene in the flick “Bullitt”, which was released in 1968. The car is super powerful for its time and as a matter of fact, it’s still powerful for today! Equipped with an impressive a V8 engine with 325 HP, this smooth and cool ride had a major role in an intense seven minute car chase scene.

These cars have all grown to be super famous, a good example is the DB5 which sold for over 4 million dollars. Take a closer look at the cars in the background the next time you go to the cinema, you might just be looking at a future star!

Ford And The Movies

Sunday, November 14th, 2010

Ford Motor Company was first launched in 1903 and since then it’s been one of America bestselling car brands. The company has played a vital role in the automotive industry, even revolutionizing the assembly line process. It’s no surprise that the brand has made lots of appearances in some of the most popular movies.

Ford’s cars have appeared on many tv shows as well as multi-million dollar movies. The practical and efficient Fusion has appeared on the trendy and hip Fox show “The OC”, giving it a bit of that “cool factor”. The Fusion is a sedan that’s a lot of fun to drive, offers great mileage and offers a comfortable and roomy interior. The best part is that it’s reasonably priced with an average price of around the twenty thousand dollar range. Leading actress Jennifer Garner aka agent Sidney Bristow on the hit show Alias has been seen going after the bad guys in none other than a Ford Escape. The Escape is a compact crossover SUV with a comfortable interior, impressive crash test results and an optional V6 engine which outs out a total of 240 horsepower. The base price is around $21k and may increase depending on the trim and options selected.

The most famous vehicle in the automaker’s lineup by far is the Mustang. One look at her and it’s easy to see why; she’s beautiful and sports ton of muscle. She has amassed a total of five hundred appearances including; “I am Legend”, “Gone In Sixty Seconds” and “Diamonds Are Forever”. The Mustang made its cinema debut in the James Bond movie “Goldfinger”. Ford provided the production with a large variety of autos to use including the Thunderbird, which was used as the CIA agents’ cars and the Lincoln Continental which ends up annihilated.

The Mustang had a prominent feature role in the movie “Bullitt” which stars Steve McQueen. The1968 Mustang GT stole the scene with an adrenaline pumping car chase. Two Mustang GT’s and two Dodge Chargers were used in the infamous scene. One of the auto’s most recent impressive appearances was in the huge blockbuster hit “I Am Legend”. In this flick Will Smith is one of the last people left on the planet and can be seen riding around in a slick Mustang hunting for deer. Other automobiles featured include the Expedition and Escape. The 2010 Mustang is priced at around $21k and is available as either a V6 or V8 engine.

The brand Ford is ingrained into American society and a brand that is accessible to most and easy to relate to. Ford vehicles are built in America, built tough and most of all practical and attainable for the average consumer. I’m sure we’ll see their cars on the big screen for a long time to come.

The Fiesta’s Fuel Economy Rivals That Of Hybrid Cars

Saturday, November 6th, 2010

Due to its unique look, excellent fuel economy and overall value, the Fiesta has become extremely popular. Consumers have the option of choosing from a hatchback body style or a sedan. The vehicle boasts a noticeable three bar grille and dragon’s eye headlamps. The Fiesta’s popularity in the States says a lot about its value since U.S consumers prefer SUV’s or much bigger cars. The Fiesta competes in the affordable compact car segment the Mazda 3, Toyota Yaris and Honda Fit. It is available in 5 different trim models; S, SE, SEL and SES.

This compact car is fueled by a V4 1.6 Ltr with 120 HP. A very unique feature that the Fiesta has is its manual mode which utilizes clutches in order to switch to the appropriate gears. In terms of gas mileage, this auto receives around 30 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the freeway. This is almost as good as some hybrid vehicles. The Fiesta makes use of a finely tuned suspension and handles curves and highways with lots of gusto.

What this auto offers is a lot of value for your money, especially if you choose one of the upper end trims which come with features such as Ford’s SYNC and heatable seats. Sync is compatible with Bluetooth enabled smart phones and allows you to easily place telephone calls hands free and direct your audio system by using your voice. There is also interior lighting available which illuminates the interior and instrument panel with 7 different color choices to choose from. The capless fuel filler is also very handy. You can just insert the gas nozzle into the tank to fill her up without having to screw a cap.

As you would expect from Ford, numerous safety features have been incorporated including front, side and knee air bags. A safety cage constructed out of boron steel was used to build the Fiesta. The driver side mirror contains an integrated blind spot viewer which helps to reduce blind spots. The electronic stability control system works to apply the brakes as necessary during understeer or oversteer situations.

What makes the Fiesta stand out is its gas mileage and cool features. Its gas mileage rivals that of hybrid vehicles plus luxurious amenities such as heated seats and the innovative Sync System are available on upper level models. Plenty of thought has been put into the Fiesta in order to make it one of the most competitive small autos in its class. The manufacturers suggested retail price is around $13k, a low price for one of the strongest cars in its class.

I live in Tennessee, so I know there’s a lot of Ford Mustangs getting offered for sale in Atlanta every day. The reason being is that there is so many people that reside in the Atlanta Georgia area that it is just about impossible to not to come across a tremendous bargain.

Taking into consideration the web being as bad as it is,it is no longer required to drive all the way to Georgia to look on the market for the sporty number you have always wanted. It is possible to merely use the world wide web and do lookups based on area if you are hoping to find that auto you would like in your state (or any other).

Why are Mustangs widespread in Georgia? I have a theory. I acknowledge that country boys and girls in Georgia just adore Ford Mustangs. They go crazy over them because they love how they move on the highway. The fact is, there is a confident coolness that comes with driving a Mustang regardless.

With the economy like it is, you’ll find that there is certainly a lot more more private sellers that are wanting to advertise their special Mustang on the web. It’s recommended that you watch these car listings frequently because they will be snatched up quickly. So do not wait around if you find what you want.

The Mustang is among the best vehicles you are able to drive on the road that is street legal. They are trustworthy vehicles that will capture your imagination as you drive them down the highway. It’s no wonder they’re so well received everywhere, not just Georgia.

The Ford Mustang is incredibly luxurious and looks really good. In fact, almost every calendar year looks great for the Mustang when you look back in its history. The traditional Mustang are in high demand with the “it” factor, and even the late model pre-owned vehicles seem to achieve the same type of mystic.
